The workers are great and friendly. Amazing sushi and udon! A Greta little hole in the wall spot!

It's soup season and Ayame has just what you need. We had the beef udon soup. It was delicious and the service was excellent. You can sit at the sushi bar or a table.

Their food always tastes super fresh. They are quick and great service. The restaurant is always clean, restrooms included. It's a great vibe. Plus Winney is awesome and personable. I love chatting with her. The Ayame roll is my favorite so far, but I'm still working down the list!

The moment we walked in, we knew exactly who these were about. There was no mistaking her. Throughout the evening, we talked to her and listened to her interactions with other customers. I totally see how her style can be off-putting to someone more accustomed to typical "polite" service. But it can also be endearing, if you choose to look at it that way. The food was delicious and came out very promptly! You're getting fresh fish and quality ingredients you can taste! Our server was very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. Inside is nice, warm with an izakaya vibe. I would recommend this as the go to sushi/Japanese spot in the area!

Food is great, they make amazing sushi and it's no wonder this is my sister's favorite spot in Vacaville. The service is definitely "we will get you what you need but you might not get the sunniest disposition".

Ayame has stayed consistent year after year. The quality of the fish here is unparalleled when comparing local sushi joints. Sure, you can find AYCE spots in town but the quality of the fish is sub par so you need to weigh out if you're looking for quantity or are you looking for quality? The miso soup isn't anything to write home about. Same goes for the side salad. But the sashimi is generously and expertly cut and it's why I come here. Service can be hit and miss. I love the quirkiness of the staff but it can sometimes be a while until you're noticed when you come in. To avoid this situation, it's best to sit up at the bar if you're willing. The ambience here is overall intentionally understated. The owner rather focus on quality food than instagramable decor. Seats are comfortable, functional, and things are kept clean. Otherwise, it's what you'd expect from a sushi spot.

As a sushi fanatic, it is my duty to try any sushi place that is recommended to me. So when my sister spoke highly of this place, I was game. We placed a to go order of different things for me to try. When I picked up the order, the owners greeted me kindly and were lively and sociable. I can tell they put an effort in getting to know their customers in a genuine way. One of them even brought my to go order to my car since it was a big one. So all in all, the service was superb. Girlyman - The restaurant does not PLAY with this roll. This is the signature roll of the restaurant, and it absolutely delivers. The Girlyman is a perfect balance of flavors, and the sauce is absolutely heaven. Beautiful decoration as well. Bake Scallop - This roll takes a standard California Roll and adds its own twist by adding scallops and spicy mayo to elevate it. Saucy, pure deliciousness. Other things I've gotten are the Salmon Pizza Roll and Salmon Donburi. Both really good as well. Looking forward to returning to this place!

I first discovered this hidden gem thanks to my brother and his friend, and I've been coming back ever since, always bringing along more friends and family to experience the deliciousness. The Girlyman Roll - 5 stars in my book. The Ayame Roll and spicy salmon nigiri are also my fave. I also love their agedashi tofu, it's served hot and fresh so be careful not to burn your mouth. Staff is attentive and friendly; the servers remember me as "the one who always orders a lot of Girlyman Rolls". The chefs probably hate when I come since the girlyman roll takes a lot of effort to make lol. Whenever we're in the Vacaville area, Ayame Sushi is a definite stop for us - whether we take it to-go or dine in.
